Flirting with modern architecture
Because it's quite hard to decide which pavillons were the best at Expo 2020 and why, I will mention them according to criteria. Here I chose the ones that were the most stunning from the outside, architecturally that is.
In the first place, comes the UAE pavillon. Designed by Calatrava, the UAE pavillon, is here to stay and will not be dismantled like the other pavillons of the Expo. Modern shapes, inside and out, airy structure and a stunning white color. The line to get inside was among the longest, and although the exhibits were interesting, it was not the most remarkable.
From the exterior, the United Kingdom pavillon has a very catching design and the queue was long, but there was nothing interesting inside.
The South Korean pavillon was definitely one of the most stunning and innovative structures, constantly moving and offering beautiful vistas from above; at night the square shaped patterns were lit in fluorescent colors and kept moving. Pakistan's outer design was quite original, as was Russia's.
