Expo 2020 - Dubai General impressions

This was on my bucket list. Having never been to the world expo before and knowing this one was so closeby and easily accessible, I went without thinking much. Yes, Expo 2020 was supposed to open in 2020 but the opening was delayed till October 2021 we all have a vague idea why. But then the whole thing was open to visitors for only 6 months instead of one full year. We get it, the exhibitors need to prepare for the next Expo in 2025 in Osaka.

The Expo comprises 211 pavillons (most by countries and some about different themes or corporations), all exhibiting around the sustainability, mobility and opportunity thematics and technologies. The site of the exhibition was accessible from 3 different areas with separate parkings, shuttles and public transportation. Entrance was also very well organized, even during Covid.

It was not only about seeing the country pavillons and stamping your expo yellow passport, but also about participating in nice cultural events, concerts, exhibitions, and of course, tasting incredible dishes made by renowned chefs at the various temporary restaurants.

Given that I was there for 3 days only at the end of the exhibition, a lot was pre-booked and I couldn't visit some pavillons like Japan or Germany;

I was still able to visit 42 hand-picked pavillons, attend a mindblowing concert and eat at 4 incredible restautants. That was also thanks to planning I did on the Expo App and to many reviews I had read online before going.
