Hair style

Everybody knows a nice hair cut is essential for women. It's even more true in Africa, and in Congo in particular. One can find here an amazing diversity of hair styles. This is one I encountered during one of my trip to Ituri.

A termite feast - Un régal de termites

Whilst driving from Bunia to Komanda in Ituri, I see a lot of people by the side of the road. They all seem to be digging, looking for things. I've already travelled that road but that's the first time I see people so busy. So I stop and start inquiring....

Nutrition centre- Dans un centre nutritionnel

Malnutrition is an acute problem in Ituri. Especially in the territory of Djugu, where most fighting between militia took place. Insecurity indeed is one of the main cause of malnutrition. Militia (and now military too) rob all people's crops, or burn...

Feed the Hungry - Tétons en coeur !

Jeremie was in Ituri last week. We'll tell ou more about this trip in the coming days. This photo was taken in a nutrition centre in a remote rural area. Women queue to get the rations for their malnourished child. In the meantime, babies get their share....
