Salsa lesson under the stars
.
We set off early from the hotel for a boat trip on a serene river. The company take us at 9 am from the hotel and we arrived at the departure location. We put on life jackets, and here we are all set for the balsaje trip. It's basically a bamboo raft with benches, a new invention; the latest trend for vacationers in Colombia. We set off in relaxed clothes. Suddenly kids take off their clothes and jump in the river. We do the same with Jonathan. It is quite nice to relax and go with the flow. Lunch time! We all stop to eat a plate in banana leaf, before taking the bus back to the hotel.

At night we visit Jonathan's friends who are celebrating a Jewish holiday. We start laughing as Jonathan makes the mistake of bringing beer while it's forbidden to have any yeast... There are the twins - Isaac and Léon - Monique (Léon's wife from Paraguay), Isaac's new fiancée Debby from Venezuela (her mother and their brother were also here for the occasion), and the parents of Isaac and Léon. They have cooked yeast-free cakes and cookies which we enjoy between shots of aguardiente...

Poor José (the father), chooses to sit next to Jeremie and has to endure his stories in Jeremie's own 'Spenglish', a mix of Spanish, English and genetically modified French. Anyway, they will both need another bottle of aguardiente and a lot of Salud to be on the same level, understand each other, but José laughed at all of Jeremie's jokes!
Later Rita took salsa dances with the 'more serious than Jonathan salsa teacher', Monique. The results are quite fascinating and we end the night quite joyfully under the stars.
