Pedro

Let me introduce you Pedro.

I know, quite a weird name for a chimp in Congo. They usually are given the name of the place where they've been found. But Pedro is a special case. Carmen - the caretaker of our chimpanzee sanctuary - is Spanish. And Pedro does not leave her a minute alone. So she gave him a Spanish name.

We are at Lwiro (45 mns north of Bukavu) in our Chimpanzee sanctuary. We have already told you about our sanctuary. Our budget is VERY limited. If you feel like making a donation, don't hesitate, we need it!!

Carmen has lots to do today, and Pedro jumps on me, and this time behaves as if I am his own mother. The Colombianos want to greet him, but Pedro is not too keen on men!
