The long trip from home to Puebla

Although we didn’t get all the sleep we wanted on the plane, we arrive ready to face the crowds at Mexico City airport. In fact, nothing as such, Mexico city aeropuerto turns out to be well organized and passing through immigration and the rest is a breeze. The plan is to head straight to Puebla, 2 hours south east of Mexico City. We land at 6pm local time and manage to catch the 7pm bus (having collected our two pieces of luggage and even with Noemie’s stroller slowing us down). So far so good. I don’t recall seeing buses so comfortable, even in Japan and what’s best, Noemie gets a seat on her own with a seat belt and goes to sleep right away in the bus. A few minutes later, as we leave the airport into real Mexico streets, someone hits the bus and we have to stop on the side for around 45 minutes until another Estrella Roja bus comes to our rescue. We get to Puebla around 10pm after a good sleep. As our taxi brings us home from the 4 poniente station we discover beautiful lighted colonial buildings and churches. I guess we’ll leave the best of it till tomorrow.
